T Flex® T-Saddle

Characteristics

T-flex

T Flex® T-Saddle is used to make quick and economical lateral connections to existing sewers or drains.

The T-Flex clamp-on joint consists of an EPDM rubber sealing plate with a “hatched” surface for better contact with the pipe and optimum pressure holding, and a shell with clamping system made from grade 1.4301 (304) austenitic stainless steel for excellent service life.

The worm-drive clip (100–160mm nominal bore) or Hi-TORQUE (200mm) clamps can be adjusted to suit the exact outside diameter of the existing sewer or drain. A single collar covers a range of diameters.

The T-Flex saddle comes in four standard sizes, 100, 125, 160, and 200 mm, which allows branching off from sewers or drains measuring 160–630mm outside diameter. For bigger diameters, we make custom clamping collars up to 2000mm (please enquire).

T-Flex can withstand a pressure of up to 0.6 bar.

Installation / Application

The T-Flex T-Saddle is quick and easy to install. No special preparation is required before installation. All it needs is a clean pipe surface.

Start by making a hole with a core drill (please enquire) or hole saw (see our hole saws) following the instructions supplied with the tool.

Check the hole diameter with the locating spigot on the back of the T-Flex; this should fit snugly in the new orifice. The spigot is designed to facilitate correct alignment of the T-Flex on the sewer or drain.

Now put the T-FLEX body in place, passing the tension bands  or clamping collars around the stainless steel shell and through the slots located either end of the shell.

The tension bands are easy to apply and remove. The band is adjusted by turning the screw on the tightening worm. Position the tension bands in a way that leaves these screws accessible.

Tighten the whole assembly with a screwdriver or ratchet socket to a torque of 6 Nm.

The simple fitting system for the T-Flex clamp-on saddle reduces the required room in the trench to a minimum.
